Sharp Tooling Company serves many manufacturing companies from diverse industries. We specialize in making close tolerance tools and parts that are used in dedicated manufacturing operations.
We are a small, innovative and growing family owned Tool & Die Machine Shop located in Cheektowaga, NY. About The Position:
· Advanced CNC Machinist with Lathe and Mill Experience (Live Tooling experience a plus)
· DMG Mori, Mastercam 2020, AutoCAD 2020 and Excel are a plus (we are willing to train)
· Other machining and operational support opportunities available for qualified candidates
· On the job training, seminars and supplier support to help apply todays technological advances to the parts and products we make
· Good pay (based on experience and amount of training required)
· An allowance for medical benefits including vision & dental, 401K w/ match, 9 paid holidays, and up to 20 Days PTO
· We also compensate if you opt out of medical benefits
Basic Requirements:
· Ability to read / interpret prints and work directly from them
· Ability to accurately use basic measuring equipment and check your own work
· Ability to problem solve and trouble shoot issues
· Ability to work without supervision and plan your day based on our job schedule, shop activity, meetings and conversations
· Ability to learn on the job and collaborate with others
· Be willing to ask for help, offer help, request and provide feedback to improve performance and outcomes
· Be driven, disciplined, process orientated and eager to learn
· Be respectful and considerate of coworkers, customers and suppliers
· Strong math skills (especially geometry and trigonometry)
· A minimum of 5 years’ experience programming and running CNC Lathes and Mills
Core Responsibilities:
· Program, set-up, operate and maintain CNC Lathe with Live Tooling
· Make parts to print and customer specifications
· Select tooling, perform time studies and analyze tool life and performance
· Accurately report time on jobs and inventory used
· Maintain and support a safe, clean and productive work environment
· Keep getting better and learn new things with formal and on the job training / exploring
· Do what it takes to get the job done right and deliver
